8.15am GOOD MORNING SUNDAY: On a busy Sunday, start the day with God and be fed and ready to go by 9:15! Breakfast from 8.15 am, the Sunday papers, conversation, prayer and reflection. 

9.30am HOLY COMMUNION: Jane leads our service on this special day as we remember those loved and lost.  Our sermon today from Robyn will have a      Remembrance theme John 1:1-5 .

11am CHURCH PRAZE – WORSHIP 4 ALL:  Welcome to our service this morning on this special Remembrance day.  Fruit of the Spirit: Peace.

ARRIVALS LOUNGE: New (ish) to St John’s? Wondering what we’re all about and how we can help you journey in faith? Come along to our ‘Arrivals Lounge’ event THIS AFTERNOON 3-4.30pm here at St John’s for refreshments, chat and an introduction to us.

Please could you help CAP Debt Centre clients and their families enjoy a    better Christmas? We hope to give every family a Christmas hamper but we need your help. Could you buy one of the items as displayed on the chart on the Welcome desk? Some items cost less than £1. Please sign up to provide an item by Sunday 10 December and put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas.

Please tell your friends and family.  You have 10 votes – which can be used on the same   project.  We need to be one of the first 200 projects to receive 1000 votes.  Thank you. 

CHRISTMAS LUNCH: A group of us at St John’s have for a couple of years been wondering whether to put on a Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day in church which would specifically be for those who will be alone at Christmas and would appreciate having a Christmas meal in company. If you know of anyone who might benefit from such an event (a neighbour etc.) this year could you let Matthew, Lesley or Rich know by Sunday 19th November as we will make a decision as to whether to go ahead this year based on demand. Also, if you would be willing to help us provide such a lunch or want to come yourself then please let us know.

DON’T FORGET your shoeboxes/fillers for the Shoebox Appeal which takes place next Sunday at 11am.

WOULD YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO IF SOMEONE COLLAPSES? Free basic life support and defibrillator awareness sessions  will be held at Cosy Hall on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5-7pm. Call 01952 417598 (weekdays     between 9.15am-12noon) or email training@cosyhall.org.uk to book.

DO YOU LIKE WALKING FOR PLEASURE? From 15th November there will be a group of people meeting at St John’s every Wednesday at 10am for a    gentle walk of around an hour.  All are welcome. More details from Jane Preston or Jo Lefroy.

FORGET ME NOT FILMS: Do you like watching old musicals while enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake?  If so, join us this Thursday (16th)  at St John’s from 9.30am – 12noon to watch ’On Moonlight Bay’ .

AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP takes place this Thursday (16th) 2.30pm here at St John’s.

JOIN US 4 A CUPPA! on Friday 17th November between 11am-1pm.  ‘Christmas’ themed bring and buy stall and Turkey Baps and Soup will be      available.  All very welcome.  Also litter pickers meeting at 11am.

SHROPSHIRE CHURCHES DAY CONFERENCE is being hosted by the Bishop’s of Shrewsbury and Ludlow ‘A REASON FOR HOPE’ on 18th November 2017  (0930 Registration) taking place at Holy Trinity Centre Meole Brace with guest speaker Revd Dr  Michael Lloyd …for further details please look on www.trinitychurches.org/hope. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX APPEAL:  Still time to take part in our annual Shoe Box appeal which takes place on Sunday 19th        November.  Take a look at the display in the main hall for ideas.

THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT TEAM meets next on Monday 20th        November 7.30pm at the home of Gill and Tony.

SOCIAL EVENING AND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS: We would like to    invite you all to help us celebrate the birthdays of James Tagg (40) and Ben Himsworth (18) on Friday 24th November at 7pm here at St John’s.  Please  bring your own drinks and nibbles, there will be a quiz  (Would I Lie to You?), games and Birthday cake. Be helpful to have a rough idea of numbers so Kathy and Kerry know how many/how big a birthday cakes/e to make.  A list in church.

STAY OUT! in the car park of Tesco’s on the Wrekin Retail Park on Friday 24th November to help raise money to support the homeless outreach work.

TGI SUNDAY: Our young people, aged 10+, meet for their next TGI event on Sunday 26th November 6pm at St John’s.

ST JOHN’S PCC are due to meet Monday 27th November 7.30pm in church.

SHROPSHIRE HOPE invites you to an evening with Roy Crowne, Executive   Director of HOPE…7.30pm Wednesday 29th November Christ Church, Bayston Hill, SY3 0PZ. See poster for further details.  Matthew is going and has a   couple of spare seats if you are interested.

ST JOHN’S CHRISTMAS FAIR is planned for Saturday 2nd December    between 11-2.30pm.  There will be various stalls, crafts for kids and displays from local groups.  If you are able to help there is a sign up sheet on the      welcome table any help is always appreciated.  If we could ask any budding  bakers to bake some cakes to offer during refreshments that would be great. 

FLAIR HOUSEGROUP request small gifts, jewellery and scarves for their stall at the Christmas Fair.  Please hand to Les or Di.  Thank you

ST MICHAELS CHOIR will be singing carols at the Christmas Market in the Town Centre on Friday 8th December between 7-7.30pm raising funds for St Michael’s Church.

PRAYERS FOR CAP: We continue to run a regular prayer time for the CAP Debt Centre, monthly on the 3rd Tuesday at St John’s in the Acorn Room 9am. 

FORGET ME NOT FILMS: Do you like watching old musicals while enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake?  If so, join us at St John’s usually on the 4th Thursday of each month from 9.30am – 12noon. 

PATHFINDERS: School Years R-Y6. Meets every Thursday at 5pm during term time at St Michael’s. Tea served at 5.05pm.  Come and join the fun £2 per      session includes food. Email to help with catering.  

BLAZE: A new mid week 11’s-14’s group. It takes place between 6-7:30pm on Wednesdays at Lilleshall memorial hall. Contact Thom for further details.

SUB:ZERO – cafe style youth club for School years 7+ at St John’s 4-6pm on Friday’s during term time. including ABSOLUTE:ZERO approx 5.30pm (during Sub:Zero)…..A chance to ask questions about God and about being a Christian…

FUSION: (14 – 18 year olds) will meet weekly at St John’s. The meeting time is Sunday evenings 7.15 – 8.30pm during term time. We meet for Bible study, prayer and discussion. Call 670760 for info.
