TELFORD STREET PASTORS
Since July 2011 working closely with then Borough of Telford and Wrekin and West Mercia Police uniformed Street Pastors are part of a team that goes out at night to engage equally with people of all faiths and none, where they are, on the ground on their terms. Their main role is to be available, to listen, to care and to help. Their focus is young people, their aim to help them feel safe in their neighbourhood or night-time venue and give assistance where needed. While their Christian faith is at the heart of all they do Street Pastors are not about preaching but about offering a practical demonstration of the love and presence of God. Although mainly woking in Telford when possible they go to Madeley, Ironbridge, Oakengates, Newport and Wellington.
They are supported whilst on duty by a Team of of Prayer Pastors who are also drawn from the Telford Area.
