It’s the GREEN PASTURES passion to work to end homelessness in the UK and to do this through the Church. They have grown substantially over the past 20 years, yet many churches have yet to hear about them and many people still need a home. With this in mind, they are excited to let you know that Songs of Praise will be featuring them THIS SUNDAY 21 February at 1.15pm on BBC1. They are hoping this will be a great catalyst for more partners to join them and enable them to provide homes and care for those who desperately need it.

Fair Trade Fortnight starts on Monday 22nd February.  We are hoping to compile a list/presentation of all the Fair Trade products that people are using and distribute it at the end of the fortnight.  Thank you to those who have sent Matthew pictures or a description of a Fair Trade item they use.  Please do send more.  It would be nice to see a few faces in them too!   Visit here to find out a fountain of information.

1 Corinthians 1:18-25

Christ crucified is God’s power and wisdom

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
    the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’

20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling-block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
