PASTORAL CARE: We intend to compile a list of people willing to respond, if there is a person in need, in our church family or community. You will not be asked to help very often and this will be in addition to the wonderful support that we know you give to one another already. Please see Judith for more info and to add your name to the list.

JESUS – WHO? WHY? WHAT?: Do you? or do you know someone who wants to know what’s it all about? Then please come along to our new Christianity Explored course which takes place here at St John’s 8pm  This Thursday . Please pick up a leaflet in church for further information.

Third Day: Paul Savill, the composer and conductor of “Third Day,” the Easter story told in music, has agreed to help St Michael’s to perform this on Saturday 31st March (Easter Saturday). If you would like to be involved (singing, helping with the staging of the performance, publicity etc) please could you come to a short meeting after the morning service at St Michael’s on Sunday 4th February or let Matthew Lefroy or Ellie Jones know you would like to be involved. This is open to enthusiasts from both churches. Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 28th Feb, 7th March, 14th March, 21st March and 28th March and there will be an introductory rehearsal/casting session on Wednesday 14th February. Visit to Israel – Holy Land: Have you always wanted to visit the holy land? Would you like to see some of the places we read about in the Bible? Then this may be for you … read on! You may recall that last year David Pierce, Sian Walker and Vicky Yates went to Israel with a friend of David’s, the Rev Dr Alan Munden and had an excellent time. It was so successful that Alan is planning to lead another group this year from 24 September to 1 October. Travel to Israel will be from Manchester to Tel Aviv. Cost will be in the region of £1800 (single room supplements about £300). Alan has led tours to Israel six times already and is familiar with many of the ‘must see’ sites. Visiting Israel brings together religion (three world faiths), history (over 10,000 years) and politics (going back to the founding of the state of Israel). The weather will be fine and sunny but a bit hotter in the Dead Sea area. There is some walking involved.  For more information ask Vicky, Sian and David and if any church members would be interested in going please contact David on 850231.

LILLESHALL PRE SCHOOL have the green tokens collection box at Asda throughout January, February and March.  3 members of St Michael’s work at pre-school and it would be good to support them in trying to secure much needed funds for this Charity status pre-school.
