8.15am GOOD MORNING SUNDAY: On a busy Sunday, start the day with God and be fed and ready to go by 9:15! Breakfast from 8.15 am, the Sunday papers, conversation, prayer and reflection.

11am ALL AGE HOLY COMMUNION: A warm welcome to our service this morning led by Rich. James talks to us about ‘’David – David & Goliath’  Luke 12:35-36 and 1 Samuel 17:20-51.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED GETTING CONFIRMED? Confirmation is a stepping stone on the journey of Christian faith – a chance to claim faith in God for yourself publicly and marking your intention to be a committed disciple of Jesus Christ.  Our Confirmation Service is at St John’s on Sunday 1st October.  If you are interested and want to find out more, please speak to Rich.

DO YOU BUY YORKSHIRE TEA? St Michael’s are collecting the bar codes from boxes of Yorkshire Tea Bags. This project is being coordinated by the Newport Rotary Lite club and used to buy wheelchairs via the Wheelchair Foundation UK with funds provided by Yorkshire Tea. One packet of 80 Teabags = 1 credit;  For every 10 credits returned, Yorkshire Tea donates £1. It only requires £75 to buy and deliver one new wheelchair. Please give to Lesley.

AUTUMN CLEAN: Can you help on the morning of Saturday 9th September?, we would like to give the Church a deep clean and all help would be really appreciated…doesn’t matter if you can only stay for a short time…many hands make light work…anytime between 9am-1pm ish.  THANK YOU

RIDE AND STRIDE: Help preserve the history on your doorstep by taking part in a sponsored cycle or walk on Saturday 9th September, for further details take a look at the poster or http://www.rideandstrideuk.org/ or see Lesley.

GraveTalk: It’s not easy to think about your own funeral. Talking about death, dying and funerals raises big questions that we need to face at some point, but it can be hard. GraveTalk is a café space where people can talk about these big questions. The conversation is helped along by GraveTalk cards offering useful questions. Come along to St Michael’s from 10am-noon on Thursday 14th      September. Speak to Rich for more information.

Our next Join us 4 a Cuppa! takes place on Friday 15th September 11am-1pm also Litter Pickers are meeting the usual time of 11am.  

PLEASE NOTE: Joint All Age Harvest Service on 17th September at St      Michael’s (No 11am service at St John’s),

PARENTALK is a great course that covers essential topics for parents of      children aged 4 to 11 years…it helps mums and dads do the best job they can at bringing up their children.  This course takes place over 6 Thursdays beginning on 21st September 8pm at St John’s Church.   Leaflets available in church and please call the Office to book your place 670033.

LADIES BREAKFAST: Let somebody prepare your breakfast and enjoy some     fellowship with friends on Saturday 23rd September  8.45am at St Michael’s Guest speaker is Gill Banks who will be speaking about ‘Faith on the Street’s.

CAP MONEY COURSE: A free course to help you manage your money better and learn to budget, save and spend well. No matter what your financial situation is, the CAP Money Course can benefit you. The tools that are taught on the CAP course are vital life skills, so whether you are financially well-off or not, on benefits or in debt this course is for you!  The next course will be held at St John’s Muxton starting on Saturday 30th September at 11am. This free course takes place over 3 consecutive sessions and all resources and refreshments are also provided free of charge. (More information can be found at www.capmoneycourse.org).

BRYN HAWORTH IN CONCERT: Bryn is an acclaimed slide guitarist and singer songwriter who has been delighting audiences with his own unique brand of rock, country and gospel blues for over 35 years.  He will be performing at St Michael’s on Saturday 14th October 7.30pm.  Tickets £7 from Lesley 670033.

SHROPSHIRE CHURCHES DAY CONFERENCE: You are invited to the     Shropshire Churches Day Conference which is being hosted by the Bishop of Shrewsbury and the Bishop of Ludlow ‘A REASON FOR HOPE’ on 18th November 2017  (0930 Registration, welcome and refreshments)   taking place at Holy Trinity Centre Meole Brace.  The Guest speaker is Revd Dr  Michael Lloyd further details can be found on the main page www.trinitychurches.org/hope. Please note tickets are £8 if booked by the end of October and £10 if booked in November.  Lunch is available for an extra £5. FORGET ME NOT FILMS: Do you like watching old musicals while enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake?  If so, join us usually on the 4th Thursday of each month from 9.30am – 12noon.  (No Film in August)
